Homecoming 2012: October 9 - 12
The Homecoming theme for this year is Beyond the Blueprint. We want to think beyond ourselves and imprint God's word on our hearts. We will win in life because of the REAL playbook we follow.

Seventh Grade Bible Ceremony
When:
  Friday, September 21, 9:25 - 10:20 a.m.

Where:  O. O. Emmons Auditorium
Who:  All Harding Academy seventh grade students, their parents, and friends are welcome. Pictures of the students receiving their Bibles will be taken and available on the website after the ceremony.  
What:
  Special ceremony welcoming the seventh graders to Cherry Road.  
  • We want to show them that God and His Word are central to our identity and desire at this school.  
  • There will be a special address by Mr. Craig Smith, the son of the late Dr. Gaylon and Mrs. Deanna Smith, the benefactors of the Bible ceremony.   

How: All seventh grade students are reminded to wear their required uniform that day. 

  • Girls: plaid skirts and white blouses
  • Boys: white oxford shirts, khaki pants, and red & navy tie
Spanish Club   
The Spanish Club kicked off its fall season this week by taking a trip to the Dixon Gallery and Gardens to visit the "Memphis Vive" exhibit that hosts works of art by Latino artists in our own community. Their sponsor is Mr. Matthew West. 
 
ATHLETICS

Highlights 

Kaylah Keys, Harding senior, was named Athlete of the Week by the Commercial Appeal.  Read the article.

Will Lawrence, Harding 7th grader, has been selected to play in the Junior Academic All-American Game at the Home Depot Center in Los Angeles, CA on January 4, 2013. Read the article.  

C
olton Nash, Harding 5th grader, was named an Offense-Defense All-American while attending an Offense-Defense Football Camp this summer. He has been invited to participate in the 7th-annual Offense-Defense Bowl Week festivities taking place at Reliant Stadium in Houston, TX the week of December 26 - January 1.

All families are encouraged to attend our football game as our Lions battle the Gryphons of St. George's. Be sure and arrive early to tailgate in the "cove" (tennis court area) at 5:00 p.m. and watch the lower school students run out of the Lion Tunnel at 6:45 p.m. Peewee, lower school, jr. high, and varsity cheerleaders will be performing. Jerry's SnoCones will be a cool treat for everyone to enjoy. Game time is 7:00 p.m. and our theme for the night is "BLACK OUT!"  COME EARLY, STAY LATE, AND WEAR BLACK!

The picture packages are $15.00 per package. There are also other options for purchase. Your coach will have the forms before September 22 to give you so that you will have time to complete the form and have the money and/or checks ready before picture time.

Team pictures will be taken on Saturday, September 22, at our Cherry Road campus. Pictures will be taken either inside or outside Ellers gym depending on the weather.

In order for your team picture to be in the school annual, you will need to have your picture taken this day.
CAMPUS MINISTRY

Fall Praise Night
Tonight, Friday, September 14, thirty minutes after the home game, everyone is invited to the O. O. Emmons Auditorium  for a time of praise. #FallPraise for more information! (Time is approximately 9:00 - 10:00 p.m.)
