Polar Bear PLUNGE Presentation Kristen Eastland
  plungers_kristen2_17_12
Harding's 1st ever Polar Bear Plunge on Sunday, February 12, 2012 was a huge splash in very cold water. Cherry Road students, staff, and friends raised over $6,700.00 to go towards Ms. Kristen Eastland's medical expenses. Forty-two students paid $25 or more to plunge, plus, they raised money for some favorite teachers to plunge. The most individual plunge money raised by students was for Mrs. Cathy Donaldson to plunge. The students also raised money for Amy Murphy, Dana Welty, Dustin Denzin (dove in 4 times!!), Gray Yates, Jeanne Chester, Justin Banker, Kevin Starks, Leanna Hawley, and Tim Stafford to take the cold plunge. Glory to God for blessing the Harding family's gift of love to a great lady, Ms. Eastland!

Harding is hosting the Memphis Youth Symphony's Concerto Competition Concert this Sunday, February 19, at 4:30 pm, in the auditorium.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students, and may be purchased at the door.

The Symphony will be performing pieces by Stravinsky, Tchaikovsky, Haydn, and Mozart, including "Firebird," which the All West Orchestra performed at All West a couple of weekends ago.
Concerto Competition winners performing on violin, viola, and cello will be featured in several pieces.

We have six students participating in MYS this season: Margaret Wheless (harp), Sarah Hughes (flute), Julianne Learned (clarinet), Glenn Hill (trombone), Jonathan Chapman (trombone), and Mary Ellen Learned (oboe).
