"She Loves Me," written by the same team that wrote "Fiddler," is a love story about a couple who carry on a relationship only by mail. They don't know each other's real name, nor have they ever met. As fate would have it, they end up working as clerks in the same shop, Maraczek's Parfumerie, and at first, neither one finds the other very "attractive." Intertwined in the eventual unveiling of the others' true identity, is the day-to-day business of the parfumerie, the ups and downs of another relationship, and even a bit of suspense! This musical, set in Hungary in the 1940s, is based on the book "Shop Around the Corner," which was later made into a movie, and later still revamped into "You've Got Mail" starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.
