A Note from Jay

Hello Everyone and Happy Holidays

I hope everyone had a delicious and fun Thanksgiving!  Holiday parties are booking quickly, so don't procrastinate if you plan on joining us in December, especially with a large party.

We are finalizing our New Year's Eve menu, and it is coming together wonderfully. Expect to see it on our website soon.

We are changing the Seasonal Menu somewhat after the holidays to reflect late winter seasonality and some feedback we received from our Bourbon and Game dinner. Don't worry - the Brussels Sprout Salad is going anywhere!  We will, however, add Venison with Squash Puree and Candied Rutabaga, Tybee Shrimp with Sunchoke Tortellini, and a few others.  We continue to bring the best of the Farmers Markets to our Market Menu every day. And as always, the kitchen staff is experimenting with everything from new housemade pastas to charcuterie items.

It's no secret that the economy has been challenging for small businesses; in the last year, two very good restaurants in our area have closed their doors, while our business, however, has grown gradually and consistently.  I attribute this to our regulars and locals throughout Atlanta who have been so supportive and loyal for the last two and a half years. Thank you for your support; it is always appreciated.

An Evening of Game

On Wednesday, November 17, we hosted our inaugural Bourbon & Bordeaux Game Dinner, and we loved seeing our regular diners side-by-side with new guests.

In the private dining room with views of our exhibition kitchen, diners enjoyed five courses of seasonal game items with a champagne reception and bourbon tasting flight. The fall feast began with "wild" boar BLTs on brioche with spiced tomato jam and buffalo tartare with tomatillo over a spicy guajillo-laced cracker. Upon seating, guests were treated to braised rabbit, roasted squab and leg of venison. A savory side of chocolate cremeux cake with brown butter ice cream and bourbon-toffee bananas accompinied from pastry chef, Chrysta Umberger, accompinied the bourbon flight.

This dinner allowed us to get feedback from our guests to shape our winter menu and we look forward to continuing this new tradition of seasonal sampling dinners.
