We just returned from an engagement session at the Cherry Blossoms in the nation's Capital. When we work outside, we always take a battery operated off camera strobe. My favorite is the Quantum T5d connected with the Free Wire transmitter so that we can work easily with no wires getting in the way. Flash is often my choice over reflectors for a couple of reasons. | RAW files - What's Missing?

Everyone shoots RAW, but not everyone saves RAW. It is how you set your camera that determines what gets saved to the memory chip!
You have the potential to save greater than 68.7 Billion colors in a 12 bit RAW file but your camera only saves roughly 16.7 Million colors in an 8 bit JPEG. With a RAW to JPEG tonal ratio of 4096 to 1, it's easy to see what's missing. For more information, click here.
