• Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo, and America's Standing in the World Today                                      
  Jan. 21, 6:00 p.m., Shapiro Campus Center Atrium
  Senator Carl Levin (D-Michigan), Chairman of the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee, will speak about his work as a leading investigator of human rights abuses by the U.S. military at Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo. The senator's address will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Brandeis faculty members, and a program of music, poetry and the oratory of Dr. King.

• Iranian composer to visit Brandeis' Lydian String Quartet
  Composer Reza Vali will speak about his work, one of the features of the Lydian String Quartet's "Around the World" Concert Series on February 2.

  Brandeis administrators David Elwell and Doris Breay are teaming up to pass a joint MA House-Senate resolution on international education, advocating for increased support for international students, study abroad programs, exchanges and institutional collaborations.
