Health Care Town Meeting
Launch of Voters' Health Care Platform
|
Thursday, September 18, 2008 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Bell Harbor Conference Center, Seattle, Washington
I am excited to invite you to come to our September 18th Health Care Town Meeting with Governors Carlson, R, MN and Lamm, D, CO to explore ways to finally reach bi-partisan reform and to launch our Voters' Health Care Platform, based on four years of talking with the public, meeting with individuals and groups, and backed by solid market research. We cannot leave the design of our health care system to Congress or the political parties. They play to their base, not the people.
This Voters' Health Care Platform is distilled from grassroots public opinion data collected from more than 7,000 survey participants from across the country, as well as from two market research surveys. This data shows significant public consensus for meaningful health care reform.
Keynote speakers, former governors and health care reform advocates, Arne Carlson, R, MN and Richard Lamm, D, CO, with moderator C.R. Douglas of the Seattle Channel, will discuss barriers and challenges to reform, as well as steps toward effective bipartisan action.
In its Call to Action, CodeBlueNow! will integrate ideas expressed at this Health Care Town Meeting, then carry the Voters' Health Care Platform to federal and state elected officials throughout 2009, to help ensure that health care reform is equitable, sustainable, affordable, accountable, safe, and fair.
Registration: $10 general public; please register by mail (registration form), email, or by phone at (206) 217-9430. Seats also available at door. For more information, please visit www.codebluenow.org.
