Health Care Town Hall is coming Sept. 18th
Join us to launch the Voters' Health Care Platform. Register today! |
| You have been following our progress over the past year and now we are pleased to invite you to CodeBlueNow!'s Health Care Town Hall on September 18th, 2008 at Bell Harbor Conference Center in Seattle, Washington.
At Town Hall we will release three years of data collected through the PulseŽ survey tool, representing the voices of almost 7,000 survey participants from across the country. Research has been conducted both online and by the Gilmore Research Group, showing more consensus on health care reform than commonly believed. This research has led to the creation of the Voters' Health Care Platform, a template for non-partisan reform, which will be launched at Town Hall. CodeBlueNow! will take the Voters' Health Care Platform to Governors and members of Congress.
Additionally, we will feature a conversation and with two special keynote speakers who introduced health care reform in their respective states: former governors Arne Carlson, R, MN, and Richard Lamm, D, CO (For more information, see Meet the Governors below). Topics will include barriers and challenges to reform, as well as specific vital elements of reform, and steps toward effective bipartisan action that can result in a system that is equitable, affordable, efficient and safe. C.R. Douglas of Seattle Channel, "The Charlie Rose of Seattle," will moderate. Seattle Channel will also be televising the event.
We invite you to submit a question for the Governors, which may be selected for the discussion. Questions can be submitted by those registered for the event by email or phone up until September 16th, with an extra opportunity to submit a question the night of the event (contact Stephanie, at stephanie@codebluenow.org).

| The CodeBlueNow! Papers
Get ready for Town Hall by reading the papers that started our movement for reform |
| Over a period of 10 weeks in the fall 2005, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer ran a series of guest editorials, "The CodeBlueNow! Papers." In preparation for our Health Care Town Hall on September 18th, we are publishing some of these papers again on Kathleen's blog, Second Opinion. Although written three years ago, this was the beginning of our discussion which has now led to our upcoming Voters' Health Care Platform we will be announcing at Town Hall.
This week's featured paper is "Putting the Patient first" by Steve Case, Co-founder of AOL and CEO of Revolution, LLC. Read it here.
