Third Street Maker Fair Origin Design Lab and Eureka Main Street will host the first Third Street Maker Fair on Aug. 6 from noon to 8 p.m. The fair, to be held on Third Street between E and F streets and Clark Plaza, will include live music, craft vendors and a flea market-style de-stash area where crafters can buy and sell supplies. Additionally, there will be a "Maker Tent" where people can sign up to learn a new craft. This event was inspired by Humboldt County's thriving creative community and plans are that it will become a yearly event that celebrates the unique do-it-yourself culture of the area. Vendors and event volunteers are still being sought for this event and are encouraged to contact Origin Design Lab for more information at 426 Third St. in Eureka or call 497-6237.
