| A Multitude of Blessings ...
By Ann Seacrest, Executive Director, MilkWorks The staff at MilkWorks feel very blessed to be able to provide support for breastfeeding mothers. Our work has many rewards, but we are especially appreciative of the thank you notes that we receive.
Earlier this year the following note arrived from Carole, a mother who came to see Suzy with her newborn, Noah:
Dear Suzy and ALL of the amazing wonderful women of MilkWorks! | | Suzy, left, with Carole and Noah |
Thank you so much for the incredible work you do in helping women like me get through the tough times and be able to feed our precious babies. Every single time I have been there has been such a blessing. Each of you demonstrates such a loving commitment to helping new moms and babies. God bless each one of you and the work that you do. You turned my tears of frustration into tears of joy.
With gratitude- Carole, mother of Noah
(For a Thanksgiving update on Noah and Carole, visit MilkWorks on Facebook and read Carole's post on October 19!)
On behalf of MilkWorks, I would like to thank all of the mothers who come to us for hlep - for the opportunity to learn from you, for being part of your journey as a mother, and for the incredible role models that you are. Thank you from all of us!

Welcome MilkWomen!
|
Please welcome the following women to our MilkWorks team!
You will find Jenny Maestas at the front desk. She is a breastfeeding educator and the mother of two young sons. Before her children were born, Jenny was the Director of Women's Ministries for Christian Student Fellowship.
Another new face at the front desk is Katie Leyden, who recently moved back to Lincoln from Bend, Oregon. Katie is the mother of two young children and has worked extensively as a school nurse and public health nurse. Along with her breastfeeding educator duties, Katie will be teaching our Milk Memos class and organizing our twice yearly Return to Work event.
Natalie Sehi is a registered dietician who works in extension at UNL. She is the mother of three daughters and a newborn son. Natalie will be teaching our Introducing Solids class and helping Katie with Return to Work.
We are thrilled to have these three very talented women at MilkWorks!

Breastfeeding Throughout History
| We might think that breastfeeding in the work place is only an issue in the year 2011. But actually, women have been figuring out how to take care of their babies and bring home the bread for a long time.
Read this interesting story on women in 19th century England. It might make today's concerns seem a bit more manageable!
