| The Accomplishment of Breastfeeding ...
By Ann Seacrest, Executive Director, MilkWorks I just returned from my (yikes!) 40th high school reunion. I grew up in a small town, so many of my classmates shared memories all the way back to kindergarten. It was a warm and comforting event full of

1969-1971 was a pivotal period for high school students. While my oldest sister sat through English class in a cashmere sweater and plaid skirt, I attended our school's first Black History course dressed in bell bottoms and a hand embroidered peasant shirt.
I came of age in a time period when young women were empowered to consider new opportunities and make choices about their future. Read more

| Adios ... | We say a reluctant farewell to a MilkWoman who has been very instrumental in our Return to Work event and our Milk Memos and Introducing Solids classes. Lisa Kopecky, a registered dietician, is moving with her family to Aberdeen, South Dakota, to embrace a new challenge as Director of Food Services for a brand new hospital. Lisa has touched many moms' lives and has truly made a difference in our community. We wish her well!

Kindersigns at MilkWorks
Join Marcia Murray, a Baby Sign Language Specialist, and learn how to sign with your baby. Signing is a perfect way to communicate with your 6 to 18 month old. It helps pre-verbal children express their wants and needs - and reduces frustration for both kids and parents. Both parents and grandparents are welcome to attend for one fee. Class meets once a week for 4 weeks. Fee is $20. Next session starts October 18th. Call 402-423-6402 to register.
