Dear Ballet Families,
On behalf of the Sarah, Liesl, Christine and myself, I would like to thank you for participating in Coppelia. It was a beautiful show and we had wonderful feedback from our guests.
This was our first full-length production and the first time we included the younger levels in our show. With more younger levels than years past, we definitely experienced some growing pains and unexpected problems this year. Because of this, there were some issues that we experienced that I would like to address.
We will be re-evaluating our relationship with the theater, recognizing our need for more rooms, bathrooms, box office personnel and management etc. We will also be looking at our volunteer organization, communication and parent involvement. We want to apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced. We are making every effort to implement better procedures for next year.
We will also be sending out a survey soon because we would like to get your feedback on this and other areas of our program. We would appreciate your participation and honest feedback on our survey.
The Guild has also offered to organize a mentoring program to help inform new parents or parents of first time show participants. This will include information via email and perhaps a short meeting at the beginning of each season (September and January) to cover information on shows, schedules, where to buy necessities, etc. The key is communication. We want everyone to know what is happening and be prepared for the upcoming events to avoid confusion and undo stress.
Thank you again for participating in Coppelia. Enjoy your success!
Sincerely,
Marcie Ryken Artistic Director
