Lacy Receives 2010 Deutschmann Award
Steve Lacy will receive the 2010 Paul J. Deutschmann Award for Excellence in Research at the 2010 AEJMC Denver Conference on Friday, August 6. The Award was created in the late 1960s to honor journalism and mass communication faculty members with outstanding records of achievement in research. Elon Receives Equity & Diversity Award
Elon's School of Communications has been named the 2010 recipient of the national Equity and Diversity Award by AEJMC. The award recognizes an academic unit for progress and innovation in racial, gender and ethnic equity and diversity in such areas as faculty hiring, school initiatives, the presence of a supportive climate for women and minorities, and institutionally embedded support. Ruggles Receives Barrow Award
Robert M. Ruggles, Professor Emeritus at Florida A&M University, will receive the 2010 Lionel C. Barrow Jr. Award for Distinguished Achievement in Diversity Research and Education at the 2010 Denver Conference during the AEJMC Business Meeting on Friday, August 6. The award recognizes outstanding individual accomplishment and leadership in diversity efforts within the journalism and mass communication discipline.The award was created by the Minorities & Communication Division and the Commission on the Status of Minorities of AEJMC in 2009.
