MAX Support Network M i n i s t r y
A ministry bringing awareness and prayer to urgent needs, tragedies and special requests
July 21, 2008

It is hard for most of us to imagine the death of a child, our child or that of any other parent.  The words of Thomas H. Kean express it well, "The most painful death in all the world is the death of a child.  When a child dies, it is not the 11 per 1,000 we talk about statistically, but the one that a mother held in her arms".   With this Support Network email we ask our prayer partners to remember two families, from different parts of the continent, who have very recently experienced a child's death.

A BELOVED DAUGHTER DIES OF CANCER
Remember Danny and Jeananne Sunday and their two sons, Nick and Hunter, as they grieve the death of their fourteen year old daughter and older sister, Mackenzie.  On July 8, only a few brief months after diagnosis, Mackenzie lost her battle with ovarian cancer due to complications caused by the chemo she was receiving.  Remember the extended family and particularly Erin and Riley, the daughters of Lisa Loewen, a MAX employee in Hesston, Kansas, as they grieve the loss of a special cousin.  In their grief, the family gives thanks that Mackenzie did not have to go through a long painful battle with cancer and that she died peacefully.  The family rest in their assurance that MacKenzie will be spending eternity in God's glory.  Mackenzie's funeral was held in Collinsville, Oklahoma where the family lives.

A FAMILY LOSES A SON IN A DROWNING
Pray also for MAX Canada members Colin and Rhonda Weber and children Jordan and Mikayla, who lost a beloved son and brother, ten year old Joshua, in a tragic drowning accident on July 15.  Remember Joshua's friends who were with him, enjoying an afternoon of swimming in a popular pond near Hawkesville, Ontario when the accident occurred.  Pray for them and their families as they work through the trauma they experienced with the sudden loss of a friend in their presence.  The Weber family lives in Elmira.  We give thanks for a large supportive extended family and a committed faith community who will support  Colin and Rhonda as they navigate their journey of grief .  Joshua's funeral was held at the Koinonia Christian Fellowship on July 19.

THE LOSS OF A HOME
Please pray for MAX Canada members Joe and Beverly Fehr and their three children from Aylmer, Ontario who lost their home to a disastrous fire on Sunday, July 13.  They were vacationing in New Brunswick when informed of the fire.  Immediately, they drove the eighteen hours back home to deal with the trauma of having lost everything.  Pray for the Fehr family as they find alternative living arrangements while their home is rebuilt and as they begin to reconstruct their lives after losing so much.  Give thanks for a community that is supporting them during this time.  Give thanks that no one was physically injured.  And finally, give thanks for the thousands of MAX members who will be sharing in this loss through the mutual aid of their insurance policy.

Insurance (Mutual Aid) is a method of sharing the losses of the few individuals in a group who suffer them, among the many members of the group who do not.
