Prayer for Healing

On October 22nd, twenty year old David Wine, sustained significant head injuries as the result of a four-wheeler accident.  David is the son of Roscoe and Ginny Wine,  members of Emmanuel Church of the Brethren, Bridgewater, Virginia.

The Emmanuel congregation took occupancy of a new church building just a few weeks prior.  The accident occurred as David was returning home from the church where he had been assisting with landscaping around the newly constructed church building.

Please pray for the healing required for David, for strength for the family and a clear sense of God's presence as they face this uncertain time.  Pray also for the congregation as they surround one of their families with love, care and support.

Updates:

Frank and Helen Friesen and Family: (House Fire)

As noted in the October 16th prayer request, Frank and Helen Friesen and their four children from the Blenheim, Ontario area were displaced due to a house fire on October 2nd.  The Friesen family reports they are doing well in an apartment they have rented.  Their damaged home has been gutted and a construction crew is poised to begin rebuilding.  Pray for them as they begin to reconstruct their home and their interrupted lives.

Ozias (Oz) Burkhart:  (Brain Tumour)

Please continue to pray for Oz Burkhart (email prayer requests of August 7 & 24 and October 16), his wife Alice and their adult family.  Oz has had an unfortunate setback.  Recently blood clots were found in his lungs and legs resulting in re-hospitalization.  In addition, aggressive cells in the tumour area of his brain indicate that the tumour may grow again.  Doctors want to do six weeks of radiation treatment to prevent re-growth of the tumour.  Oz needs to regain his strength back before treatment can occur.
