Dear PEAKE Academy Families,
Thank you to all of the families that came to share in our 2010 Graduation Celebration. It was so fun to see all of the children beaming with pride for all of the accomplishments that they have had this year! We are so proud of each and every one of them and will truly miss our friends that are moving on to Kindergarten. Also, a very special thank you to all of the teachers for making it all happen.

Star student Olive
Art was really sweet, as we worked on Dad's Day gifts. We also, made a yummy paper cake, ice cream cones, and really pretty bracelets.
In Math we played " Shopping." The class got pick out one item and they had to buy it from Ms. Lindsi with their coins. It was fun to have the class get so excited to buy something with their money. They are getting so good at counting coins.
Social Studies: We continued to learn which president is on each coin and what picture is one the the back. They have done such a good job learning this information!
Writing: The letter of the week was Gg and Cc. We talked about what words start with each letter. We also continued to practice writing our letters.
Music: We had a dance party to celebrate graduation!
Please RSVP to Ms Lindsi if you are or are not able to make it to the end of the year summer party!!!
Thanks,
Ms Lindsi & Ms Stacy

Graduation
This week's "Graduation Celebration" theme was an awesome way to finish up the school year (I'm not going to cry-I'm not going to cry....) We enjoyed doing a year end review and repeating favorite activities, projects and games. We read some of our class favorites including How do Dinosaurs Eat Their Food, Jessie Bear, What Will You Wear, and Silly Faces, See Me...GO! Ashleigh really thinks it's funny to be the magician's rabbit in the Silly Faces book. Kristin brought a book in called Baby Turtle's Tale. The kids really enjoyed it. There was a scary part with a shark and they said they were brave so we read it and the turtle hid from the shark and it was OK. What a relief. We also did a lot of singing. One day, we sang one song we learned during each month. It was fun to sing some of our favorite Halloween and Christmas songs again. When Shea was asked to pick his favorite song to sing on his last day of school he said "It's ABC's, I guess!" So we sang it loud and proud. Ashton and Lou caught a case of the sillies during the song and found their monster voices to sing with. So much silliness. In art, we used a lot of our leftover collage pieces. It was a great way to remember many of the projects we did thoughout the year. Andy really wanted to do more pool painting. Everyone agreed, so we did. Pool paintings are so fun and so pretty. Our letter this week was o. We made O octopi. We did some stop dancing to some opera music and we made lots of lots of o sounds. In math, we used chop sticks to pick up pom poms and then sorted them by color. We also practiced graphing. We used jelly beans for our color graphs. We love math especially when we get to eat it! Thank you so much for such a great school year. We've had so much fun and learned so much. We have gotten to be so independent and made so many great friends. To the kids who had there last days this week, we will really miss you. Come in and say "Hi" if you are in the neighborhood. Otherwise, you will grow up and I'll miss it! I'll be saving a hug for each of you! To each of the parents, thanks for all of the love and support this year. I really can not say how much it is appreciated. Love, Ms. Angie, Ms. Claudia and Ms. Rebecca

| Toddler School with Ms. Judy & Ms. Courtney | | Graduation / Summer Olympics
IAttention one and all, come see the summer olympics champions in the Toddler class, gold medals to all that partook this week were not only rewarded, but made as well. Each child even told us what sport/activity they got their medal. Mason received his in dancing and Finley shared his was from wrestling. To go with our 2010 Toddler Summer Olympics theme we painted and put together the famous Olympic rings! Along with numerous art and gluing projects, we also colored pictures of various Olympic sports and of course, the Olympic's torch! But this week was not all about Olympic sports and traditions, but also a week of talking about our awesome dad's and what they mean to all of us. Dads, your little ones love you. All the Toddler's constantly talk about all of you and what you do that makes you so special! We can't really share what we did because some kids won't be giving a gift to their dad till next week (it was quite the process), but I am sure once you get it, you will love it as much as they did making it. Also, welcome to class Siri! You had a great first day on Wednesday, and it is a pleasure having such a sweetheart joining us. The entire class would like to thank our friend that came in and did music with us. Your guitar was "awesome," as Henry stated. I haven't seen the kids in awe like that in quite awhile! Hope everyone is enjoying their summer and let's hope that sun returns! |
