Pre-Kindergarten with Ms. Lindsi & Ms. Stacy
 Writing ZsWild Animals

Star Student: Gracie - She was so helpful and did such a great job being a leader!

In Art we had a wild time, we made a very cute noodle lion.  Allie made a very curious lion with lots of poke-a-dots. The class was very creative decorating with the pasta noodles. We also made monkeys that reminded us of all our monkey classmates. The class also made a 3-d elephant blower.  Aidan, Caden, Connor and Jack thought the 3-D elephant blower was super cool.  Finally we ended our wild art week with pop bottle giraffes.

In Writing we practiced writing our letters of the week Yy and Zz. We have also started the beginning steps of reading. The class has gotten so good at blending sounds together. They all know their sounds so now it just takes practice and learning all of the special rules that go along with sounds. On Wednesday we completed a skill sheet were they had to sound out the words and match it to a picture. Zoi, Logan, Rowan and Molly really excelled at sounding out the words and matching it to the pictures!!!

In Math, we continued practicing our addition and subtraction math problems. They have been working with cubes and creating their own math problems verbally and visually. It is really refreshing to see the class use and understand these important concepts to build a strong foundation as they continue their journey in math.

In Reading we read, The Wolf, Jooka Saves the Day, Caps for Sale, The Happy Lion, and Deep in the Jungle. Ms Stacy and I did not realize how interested the class is in Wild Animals. They just loved to listen to all the wild animal stories.

In Music we did a shape hunt while singing "I am a Big Lion," freeze dance and animal Yoga!

Ms. Stacy and I would like thank everyone for all special gifts that you gave us this week!!!

We had a really fun week!

Wild Animals  PS Palmer and Dylan M

Growl!  Snarl!  Hissssss!  ROAR!  Those were the sounds coming from the Preschool this week.  (What's new then?  You ask - HA HA)  It was "Wild Animals" week!

We read stories like Rumble in the Jungle, The Day the Giraffe Cock-a-Doodle-Do'd, and Chimps Don't Wear Glasses.  After reading Chimps Don't Wear Glasses, we used our imaginations to think of funny things wild animals could do.  Palmer thought it would be funny if all of the animals were in the school.  Palmer, you're silly.

In Art, the kids made super cute paper plate lions.  We love how they are all so different.  We also made pictures of giraffes on an African savanna.  Ashton included lava in his picture because it is inside the earth.
Thank you to Dylan M. and family for the best ever puppet theater.  The kids love it!
A super big THANK YOU goes out to Soleil's mom, Ms. Erin and Grace's mom, Ms. Ivette for the super awesome tie-die party!  It was so much fun and the t-shirts turned out amazing!
Thank you, Ms. Venus (Monica's mommy) for hanging out with us, helping us, reading to us and playing with us on Wednesday.  It was so fun.  And also to you sweet Ava for being such a great baby!
Happy birthday to Dylan M.!  I can't believe how grown up you are!  Dylan, we enjoy your playful spirit every day!
Thank you also to all of you who helped make teacher appreciation week so special.  You guys are THE BEST and we feel so fortunate to have you in our lives.  (sounds cheesy, I know, but it's true)  LOVE YOU ALL!

Wild AnimalsRecess Time

It all began with a RAWWWR this week in class for our wild Toddlers.  We learned about all different wild animal from lions to hippos, to zebras and giraffes the kids had a blast this week using their animal noises in class!!  We painted furious lion masks, okay, maybe they weren't that scary..but still, they were wild!!  We constructed 'heart' hippos with a cute line  that not even the strong and big animals want their hearts crushed.  We added stripes to zebras and painted and spotted giraffes!  It was like a zoo, literally!  However, not only did we make animals, but we acted like animals as well.  We read a popular book entitled Animal Actions where we spun a wheel and then acted like the animal the arrow on the wheel stopped at.  I had never seen so many crazy monkeys and sneaky alligators in my life!  The Toddlers are animal experts!  We also read a class favorite called, Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?  All the children can now recognize very common wild animals, such as rhinos and cheetahs, thanks to this popular book.  Also, this week we were pleased to have Adam return from his trip to Hawaii.  ALOHA!!  He also turned two while he was gone!!!  Our friend Riley turned the big 2 as well!  Ms Judy and Ms Courtney would  like thank each of the parents that have given us tokens of affection this week.  You are simply a joy to have in our lives, as well as your terrific children!

Check out the progress on our new space!!!!
