We had so much fun this week talking about all the pets our class has. We worked hard in math. We did kitty math and counted kitties on a kitty skill sheet. Molly brought the kitty math skill sheet for our class to do. She loves kitties. I think all the girls in Pre-K loves kitties!!! We also worked more on number recognition and matched the numbers to the appropriate amount.

In art we created a kitty, dog, and Molly's mom brought a really neat pet book, but also had a really fun game that went with the art book. We also made shamrocks and decorated them with lucky jewels. And finally we made Irish top hats. The class loved doing all the St. Patricks Day art. They loved learning about all the traditions.

The letters of the week are Mm and Pp. We talked about all the words that start with P and M. We continued working on blending sounds and practiced writing words that start with the letters of the week. Kennedy and Sikha have really worked hard on writing this week. The classroom also has a writing board and the class is suppose to work on writing words like, hat, sat, cat, mat etc.. Olive, Arianna, Taylor and Caden have worked hard on writing these words and practiced reading the words.

In music we danced while pretending to be a different pet. The class got to choose a different pet when I called their name. We also played the "Guess who I am" game. The students acted out a pet and their classmates had to guess what pet they were. We also acted out ways to take care of pets.

They class got to go on a lucky treasure hunt. Ms. Stacy and I hid lucky treasure pieces and the kids had to find them. We had so much fun and we can't wait to do another treasure hunt.

We have ten more marbles to earn until we earn fun Friday!

Pets was this week's theme and we have had a lot to talk about.  We have friends with cats and friends with dogs and friends with fish.  None of our friends have a pet rhinoceros however.  Shea told us all about his new pet goldfish and Kristin has told us all about Coda dog. We even had a pet visitor this week.  Brodie's dog, Murphy the rescue dog, came to visit us at school.  Mr. Jensen (Brodie's Daddy) introduced all of us to Murphy and told us all about Murphy's very important job.  He taught us what to do if we got lost (sit down and stay still) and taught us how to pet a dog and all about Murphy's great nose.  The kids thought it was all super funny and really enjoyed getting to meet Murphy.  Dylan K even said "I love Murphy!"
We enjoyed several books about pets this week including What Pet to Get and Sam the Dog.  In art, we made ourselves into dogs and cats.  What a sweet group of pets were.  Grace does the sweetest little meow.  We also made Fish bowls and pet puppets.
Our letter of the week is b!  we made button b's and did some beading.  We bounced and bounced and bounced!  B is so great because without b, we couldn't have basketball, butterflies or batman!  Can you imagine a world like that?!  We also measured how many balloons tall we are.  We couldn't do that without b!  B is also for Bodie and Brodie and we really like Bodie and Brodie.  So we will keep b!
We really celebrated St. Patrick's Day this year.  We painted shamrocks and used gold glitter.  Oh how Jada loves glitter!  We talked about Leprechauns and how silly and mischievous they can be.  We enjoyed the story The Luckiest St. Patrick's Day Ever and doing a little Irish jig to a bit of Celtic music.  Monica brought in some yummy green sprinkled cupcakes to share and Rory brought in her mom, Ms. Brittany, to help the kids make great St. Patrick's day crowns.
Friday, we said bye bye to winter because Saturday is the first day of spring.  So we wore cozy PJ's and read our favorite winter books.  When we come back to school on Monday, it will be spring!  Yahoo!
On Monday, we said said our Bye-bye's to Ollie.  Ollie picked out a book to read (10 little Monkeys) and everyone gave him a hug.  Ollie is moving to California and I know we will miss him very much.  Ollie, I love your quirky ways and your sweet smile.  Have fun in California!
Thank you so much Monica and Rory for helping make our St. Patrick's Celebration so much fun.  Thank you Brodie for letting everyone meet Murphy.  And Murphy, thank you for being such a sweet dog!

We had fun this week talking about pets in class!  We learned what animals are good pets and which are better left in the wild or in the zoo.  Our class was full of "woofs," "meows," tweets and more little critters that some our friends have in their homes.  We colored kitties, stamped and stickered and such to make cute dog collages.  We also feathered up some birds and painted goldfish!  It was cute hearing the immitations of the pets that the kids did.  We also read some of our favorite pet related books like, "I Love My Kitten," "I Love My Doggy," "The Rainbow Fish," "PETS" and "10 Little Fish."  Also this week we celebrated St. Patrick's Day with cupcakes and shamrocks galore.  Good job to everyone remembering to wear green!  Also, thank you to Mason for being in some wonderful new music for our class to dance to, it was a hit.  Our kids danced, clapped and laughed to their new favorite hip hop music!  Natalie even shared, "This is my favorite music!"  Even little Riley was seen bouncing around to the beat!
