Star Student Connor
In art this week made a really cool race car track with toy cars, paper and paint. The class got super messy and they loved it. We also made a school bus and fire truck out of boxes. Finally, we made really cool canoes out of paper and yarn. Kennedy's canoe turned out so cute. We had the students talk about where their canoes were going, and the stories were hilarious.
In math we learned about all the coins. We learned what the coins are made of, what president is on the front of each coin, and what picture is on the back and what it represents. Olive thought it was so cool that on back of the dime there is an Olive tree that represents, "peace". She thought there should be a picture of her instead!!! They class really was interested in this weeks math. They loved talking about their piggy banks and how much money they have saved.
In Science we have been watching our caterpillars turn into cocoons, then into butterflies and Wednesday we were able to release them into their habitat. The class was so excited to watch this process and finally watch them fly away and find their "friends." We also made magnet water jars that are really cool!!!
In Music we drove our pretend school bus, while singing the "wheels on the bus," we also played red light green light, to help the class understand the rules that all transportation operators have to follow.
In reading we are reading the chapter book Mr. Putter, and Tabby takes the train. The class thinks they are such big kids because they get to read a chapter book in class. Our class is growing up!

Transportation
Ready, set, Go! This week's transportation theme had us flying, driving, scooting, floating and choo-chooing from place to place. In art, we made planes, trains and automobiles (sorry, I couldn't resist). Our planes are flying through a cloudy sky taking Kristin to California to see her grandma, Neil to Hawaii to find sharks and Palmer to his house. Some of the great books we read this week included Wind Flyers, Moosequitos and Meow and the Little Chairs. In the last story, Meow and his friends make a train out of chairs so Dylan M. and Lou quickly got the kids organized into building our own chair train. The kids enjoyed a leisurely train ride. It is amazing how long kids can sit still in a chair if the chair is part of a train. Since it was transportation week, we,of course, had to sing "the wheels on the bus," "little red caboose," "I've been working on the railroad," and "row, row, row your boat." All of these songs have a lot of movement so we could sing 'till we were exhausted. Andy loves it! In math, we practiced writing numbers on train cars. In science we explored sinking and floating and we enjoyed looking at and learning about maps. We even had the opportunity to create our own maps. Our letter this week is m! That is Monica's letter! It is also for motorcycle and motor home. Two different ways to get from place to place. Over the weekend, Palmer had a birthday. Guess who's 3 now?! Less than a week of being 3 and Palmer, you do it like an expert! We are all wishing Rory a speedy recovery. See you soon, kiddo! Welcome Ms. Rebecca! It has been fun having you in class this week.

| Toddler School with Ms. Judy & Ms. Courtney | | Transportation
Planes, trains and automobiles was what was happening this week in the Toddler Class. From coloring planes, to constructing boat and painting buses, we covered various ways of travel just before summer and talked about how we get around town and around the world! Adam and Finley shared that they both took a plane recently to go to Hawaii where they "hung loose!" Lots of the kids' mommy's and daddy's drive cars to take them to school and it is official that "red" cars are the favorite of the class. Thomas was a big deal this week, we did our toot, toots and chugs all week long! We read so many books, but here are some of our favorites: Tour the Town, All in a Days Work, TRUCKS and Little Engines Can Do Big Things. Also, this week we talked about our summer plans and what type of transportation we might take to get to our summer destinations. Next week we will talk about the last of our "school year" curriculum, "Summer Fun." If you want to share with your child any summer plans you may have, please do so, we love to hear what they have to share and they love to tell us! It really has been such a great school year with the toddlers, we look forward to an incredible summer and some more fun!
