Normally the closest I get to greenery is on St Patrick's Day or during a performance of The Little Shop of Horrors. So I am glad we have some others in the office who can advise you about our new breaks for the Chelsea Flower Show 2008 - and just in time for Mothers Day!
Every year, for five days in May, the grounds of the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, are transformed into the fabulous show gardens, inspirational small gardens and vibrant horticultural displays that make up the world's most famous flower show.
The RHS Chelsea Flower Show is the first event of the summer season and showcases the finest examples of horticultural excellence, created by the best garden designers, plantsmen and plantswomen. It sets the latest gardening trends; is the favourite place for plant breeders to launch new plants; and features the newest and most desirable gardening products.
Designers from across the globe create around 20 show gardens, which create the impact and spectacle that Chelsea is renowned for.
 Theatre Breaks has packages available including day-long tickets for each of the public days (22nd, 23rd and 24th May) and hotel accommodation at hotels including some handy 3 star hotels right up to The Ritz!
We think your plan should be to book two nights so that you can arrive early and not have to face the journey home after a long day at the show, but if you can only manage one night away then you can book either the night before or the night after.
Both have benefits - book the night before and get there early and then if you are planning to buy plants at the end of the show you can get them home nice and quickly.
Book the night after and you don't have to stagger home having spent all day on your feet.
Whichever you choose, book early as I understand they will be hard to get hold of nearer the time
