Meet AANR Executive Director Jim Smock

 On January 9, AANR officially welcomed new Executive Director James "Jim" Smock. He has a resume seemingly tailored to lead the American Association for Nude Recreation, with a 20-year background in government relations, business management, public relations, and lobbying. Smock is a law school graduate with a deep background in government affairs.

FL County to Spend Tax Dollars Promoting Nudism

 County commissioners awarded $3,800 in tourist tax money in December to help promote Pasco County, Florida, location of many nudist resorts, as an international nudist destination.
The money was awarded to the Pasco Area Naturist Development Association (PANDA) and will be used to advertise Pasco's resorts in international nudist magazines.
Advertisements will promote the months of July and August, when tourism lags in Florida and many Europeans are looking to take extended vacations.
The funding for the nudist resorts' promotion was approved on a 4-1 vote.

 Benjamin Franklin's birthday is believed to be January 17. Known as "The First American," Benjamin Franklin is certainly one of the most revered figures in American history.
From his inventions such as bifocals and the lightning rod, his accomplishments as a politician and diplomat, to his stature as a Founding Father of the United States of America, Franklin lived a colorful and highly influential life.
