Tunick Publishes First Dead Sea Photo
Dead Sea

After completing his latest photo shoot last month, photographer Spencer Tunick said that he would publish the first photo of the installation in six months.

Since then, the international campaign to help select the Dead Sea as one of the new seven natural wonders of the world may have been what persuaded him to publish the first image this week. During the shoot, in which 1,200 Israelis were photographed, Tunick stressed that one of his goals was to draw international attention to the fact that the Dead Sea was drying up.

Tunick has set up a website at www.nakedsea.info where he intends on publishing more images from the shoot and encourages visitors to vote for the Dead Sea.

Vitamin D Deficiency And Breast Cancer
Breast Cancer Sun

As another successful Breast Cancer Awareness Month winds down, one organization, GrassrootsHealth, is conducting a study as to whether Vitamin D could help eradicate the disease--and nude sunbathing may be an important link.

Since there is no way to measure how much vitamin D one absorbs while basking nude in sunshine, so far there are mixed reviews as to its benefits regarding breast cancer. Can Vitamin D from the sun help people avoid breast cancer? We may know the answer to that question in five years, when the study is completed.

Club Corner--The Sequoians
Sequoians

The Sequoians, a member-owned-and-operated non-profit nudist organization affiliated with the American Association for Nude Recreation, has welcomed park visitors and members to bare it all since 1947, making it the Bay Area's oldest nudist facility.

This Saturday, October 29, the clothes-free club will celebrate its annual Halloween party--the last event before closing down for the season.

From lounging by the pool to hiking along the park's 80 acres of trails, members take advantage of the facility's many amenities on weekdays from April to October.
