Ice Sculpture Causes Meltdown
|
A
family in Rahway, New Jersey, was told by police to cover a
nude snow woman in their yard after an anonymous complaint. The snow sculpture was a
re-creation of the famous Venus de Milo that the family created outside their
home. While most passersby appreciated the sculpture, a green bikini top and
blue sarong bottom were added until the snow woman melted when temperatures
warmed up.

New Tunick Shoots Spotlight Equality, Everyday People
|
BBC
News reports that photographer Spencer Tunick announced his latest photo shoot, to take place this May
in Britain, just days after more than 5,000 nude volunteers posed at the Sydney Opera
House in Australia. The Australian photo shoot was themed equality, and May's installation will feature the "rich industrial heritage"
of the two cities involved as well as celebrating the tenth anniversary of The
Lowry, a Greater Manchester art gallery.
Tunick has been documenting the nude figure in public locations since 1992. He is seeking 1,000 volunteers for
the multiple site installation, hoping to capture the movement of everyday people in a
series of photographs. The finished work will be shown at The Lowry from June
to September as part of its exhibit, Everyday People.
