Not Just Your Typical Art Show
|
Lovers of nude art will have no problem finding shows to attend across North America this spring. Some of the shows are interactive with scheduled nude nights so patrons can view nude art in the nude or take part in live drawing sessions.
Since 1997, Nude Nite has been a popular event in Florida, with shows in Orlando and Tampa, attended by thousands of visitors. Both locations feature a juried art exhibition with hundreds of participating artists not only with paintings and photography but also with live body painting, performances, sculpture and experimental installations. This year's shows are scheduled for February 11-13 in Orlando and March 4-6 in Tampa.
Click here for more information and to view the gallery or visit Nude Nite on Facebook.
The Lexington [Kentucky] Art League is currently running QX.net Nude 2010 through March 27. Now in its 24th year, the exhibition includes works focusing on the human form, personal identity, contemporary life and social politics.
Once again Kyana
Naturists is hosting "Nudes Viewing Nudes" on February 20. Those attending will enjoy, in the nude, a
private guided tour of the Lexington Art League's international exhibit
dedicated to the human form.

AANR-Northwest will once again be a sponsor of
UNCLAD 2010, now in its ninth year. The show, dedicated to celebrating the nude figure in art, will be held March 13-28 at the Gallery by the Bay in Stanwood, Washington, and attracts artists from across North America. Visitors will find a wide array or styles and mediums. AANR-Northwest will also sponsor a private clothing-optional evening reception and viewing. Artists and models will also be on hand for a live drawing session.
Click here to visit the UNCLAD website or find information on the viewing on the AANR-Northwest website.

Chile Prepares For Naked Bicentennial
|
Chileans are invited to bare all this month for the Naked Bicentennial photo shoots January 30. Chilean photographer Rene Rojas, inspired by Spencer Tunick, plans to replicate Tunick's naked photo shoots in various locations across Chile. Rojas was one of the producers of Tunick's 2002 installation at which over five thousand people pose naked in Santiago. The first photograph will be shot in Horcon, home to Playa Luna nude beach, which Rojas helped coordinate. Rojas calls the events a celebration of freedom, "It's 200 years of independence and this is the highest expression of freedom."
