Nudity and Children: The Discussion Continues
Today Show The article that appeared in The New York Times titled "When Do They Need a Fig Leaf?" about parental attitudes toward nudity and children has generated plenty of discussion. From journalists to child experts to everyday people, it seems everyone has an opinion about whether it is proper to be nude in front of one's own children at home, for the kids to be nude, what to do about guests, and whether romping in the backyard sprinkler au naturel is okay. Besides, the Times article, similar pieces on the same topic appeared in many other media venues including The Salt Lake Tribune, The Washington Post, The San Francisco Chronicle, Politics Daily, The Daily Sound and at Examiner.com. The Today show also was on board, with Meredith Viera keeping the discussion going.

Nude Statue Placement Creates Controversy
Journey To The New The placement of a nude sculpture outside a shopping plaza in Delray Beach, Florida, is causing controversy. The bronze statue, Journey ToThe New by Itzik Asher, is described as a "representation of Jewish families who fled Ethiopia in 1991 under a covert military operation called Operation Solomon." The sculpture depicts a family--a father and a mother holding an infant and the hand of an older child. But some nearby residents and parents of children who attend nearby Morikami Park Elementary School aren't fans. The Morikami Park PTA president found the sculpture distasteful and e-mailed parents asking them to file complaints with the Palm Beach County Code Enforcement.  A teacher in the school's summer program said she hasn't heard any complaints from the children, only the parents.
