"When Do They Need a Fig Leaf?"
New York Times July 16th's New York Times' Home & Garden section featured an article titled "When Do They Need a Fig Leaf?" The article, by Julie Scelfo, talks about nudity and children in the home. Scelfo interviewed parents and experts in the field of child behavior for a well balanced article that presents the varying perspectives of parents and guests toward children and nudity. A majority of parents and experts reveal that they do not have a problem with allowing a child to be naked in the home or in appropriate settings.

The Times posed the question "Should young children be allowed to play in the nude at home?" to which over 500 readers responded.

After reading the article, AANR Executive Director Erich Schuttauf wrote a letter in response. The Times replied and asked permission to reprint his letter in today's Home & Garden section. Except for one letter, all the letters address the question "Nude or Not?"

World Record Skinny-Dip Update
Skinny-Dip The counts are coming in from across North America for The AANR World Record Skinny-Dip. Although the official Guinness count has not yet been tallied, the current count, with not all clubs yet reporting, is 12,942.

It's AANR Convention Time
Convention Performer The 2009 AANR Convention is just around the corner, August 10-16 at Oaklake Trails in Depew, Oklahoma. The convention is a great time to socialize with AANR members from across the continent as well as stay informed on AANR business. This year's convention features fun events, tournaments, and in one of the week's highlights, a performance by Choctaw Indian Michael Loman, a Native American Fancy Dancer.

Sun, Rain and a Tilley Hat
Tilley Endurables For the fifth year in a row, Tilley Endurables will be a sponsor of the AANR Convention. Tilley hats are the perfect outdoor nudist accessory. Made in Canada, the hats are not only stylish but block 98 percent of harmful UVA/UVB radiation.

The best part? A handy security pocket inside to store valuables, completely eliminating the need for pockets. The 2009 line of men's and women's hats and clothing is now available. For more information, visit Tilley Endurables.
New Belgium Convention Sponsor
Skinny-Dip Beer A previous sponsor of the AANR Convention is on board again this year. New Belgium Brewery's Skinny Dip beer returns to the 2009 convention. According to the New Belgium Web site, Skinny Dip was created by Belgian brewmaster Peter Bouckaert when the New Belgium founder was looking for something full-bodied but a little lighter to drink after workouts.

And what better name for a tie-in product, especially this year, with the AANR Convention following The AANR World Record Skinny-Dip? Read more at New Belgium.
