Today Show Hosts Paint Nudes
|
Today show hosts Matt Lauer, Meredith Vieira, Ann Curry and Al Roker went to art school to learn to paint the classic nude in a recent segment for the show. The location was the prestigious New York Academy of Art. Although the finished paintings were covered for television, the feature gave the hosts a chance to appreciate the human body in its most natural state.

Act Naturally
|
The plot of
a new film being produced by Letterblue Productions centers on life at a nudist
resort. According to the Act Naturally website, the movie is about two
estranged sisters who learn of their father's death and travel across the
country to claim his remains. After arriving, the girls are shocked to learn that their father was the proprietor of
a nudist resort--and the resort is their inheritance. The staff takes the
sisters under its wing, trying to convince the sisters to keep the resort open
and welcomes them to a world free of worries and clothes. The filmmakers plan to release the film in 2010.

999 Nudes Reveal "No Hidden Extras"
|

999 nude people
gathered at London's Jubilee Gardens
for Aer Lingus' "No Hidden Extras" promotion. Participants were recruited using
popular social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. Over 2,000 people
registered, with 999 places offered on a first come, first served basis.
Nudes of all shapes and ages took
part in the event.
In return, participants received two free return flights to one
of the eight new European destinations that Aer Lingus serves. Participants
were given shamrock bikinis in honor of St. Patrick's Day and warned by police
that complete nudity would not be tolerated. Once police were out of sight,
many ignored the warnings and went completely au naturel for the remainder of
the event.

Nude Altitudes
|
Nude hiking
has become a popular recent trend in Switzerland. Last summer, the
number of nude hikers increased greatly, and Switzerland has no law against
hiking in the nude. Citizens and tourists alike hike in the Alps
wearing no more than hats and boots. While some officials are worried about the
trend, Swiss legal experts contend that banning public nudity would be
unconstitutional. Hiker Konrad Hepenstrick, a 54-year-old architect who has
hiked for hours in the nude, recently
said in a New York Times article that he "almost never meets people who are
bothered," although he does concede the need for some protection from the cold--a
hat and gloves.
