Raft
 Howard Goldenberg
Raft is a collection of unnerving true stories that reveal the author's experiences as a doctor in Aboriginal communities and inside an outback prison. Over more than a decade Howard Goldenberg made over 50 visits as a relieving doctor for Aboriginal communities in outback Australia. He observed and recorded the lives of the people he met and treated. Author Arnold Zable writes, 'Goldenberg is both observer and physician, writer and participant, tenacious in his quest for understanding and lived experience.'

| congratulations! | | | Congratulations Pauline Moncrieff and Anne Reardon, you've each won 10 copies of Sex and Stravinsky for your book club!
Serje Jones has won 10 copies of Brenda Walker's Reading by Moonlight for Marlborough Street Book Club. Serje wrote to tell us about how they choose books:
The Marlborough Street Book Club chooses books according to The List, which follows the order the 10 members joined the group. Whoever is on The List for that month chooses the book. There are no rules about which book may be chosen. However, there is a rule that all members read with good grace. As a consequence I had to read the god-awful He's Just Not that Into You. There's two hours of my life I will never get back. |
