Greetings!

Most people we know are into getting good value these days. It's just good sense. Here at Club Nautique, we're working hard to provide access to a luxury lifestyle at economy prices. Here are just a few examples of great values that get you out on the water and away from the stresses of everyday life:

· Weekend Getaway for 4: aboard a "value" priced Hunter 320 with 2 private staterooms, the member price is only $400 or $100 per person. With free night before boarding, that's 2 days and 3 nights at $33 per person per night. You can't even stay in a flea bag motel for that and you get to anchor at some of the most beautiful spots in the world!

· Brunch Bunch CharterShare: For $75 you can enjoy a day sail on the bay and you don't even have to organize it. Just reserve and show up. The next Brunch Bunch sail is Sunday, July 24th from Alameda and will be brunching at The Ramp (see below).

· Luxury Coastal Cruise for 6: even our biggest, most expensive sailing yacht is only $2,460 for a week. That's less than $60 per person per day for a 50' Jeanneau with heat and air and 3 private staterooms. Talk about a great "staycation," we can't think of anything else that can touch this. For just a sample of what you could do, check out this video shot aboard Eureka! over Memorial Weekend.

The point here is that multiple day summer rates are actually lower than last winter and it's easy to put together a surprisingly economical vacation on a Club Nautique yacht. Call us if you need some ideas and get out there!

THE BRUNCH BUNCH CHARTER SHARE - To The Ramp Waterfront Restaurant

Alameda Departure

Sunday, July 24th - Meet at 0930

OK, we got the message. You don't like Chowder Charters. We were trying to provide a venue for shared cost sailing, much like Hump Nights, but for a full day's sail. Was it our cooking?

Charter Share

We haven't given up yet! We're going to tweak this a little and lower the price a little. This is a CharterShare event with a fixed price of $75 per member. Everyone meets at the club at 0930 and will be assigned boats just like Hump Nights. Each time we'll visit a different waterfront restaurant for brunch, so you don't have to put up with our cooking. If you want to put together your own group, that's fine too. You can either go on the assigned boat, or charter your own and tag along.

Members & Guests: $75/Non-Members: $125

TODAYS TIP!

Todays TipKeep some tension on the jib furlin line when bringing out your jib.

Keep a slight amount of friction on the jib furlin line while unfurling your jib. It will help load the line properly in the drum and prevent the furling line from jumping out of the furling mechanism.

NOGGIN BOGGLER WINNER!

We didn't randomly select a winner from the correct answers that were submitted because no answers were submitted. Think of it - if you had sent in the right answer, you would have won! Don't miss your chance to dazzle us with your knowledge and win a prize!

Question:
What is the biggest difference between heat exhaustion and heat stroke?

Answer:
When you have heat stroke, sweating is not a symptom. Heat stroke is a serious medical condition and if any of your crew display symptoms you should seek medical attention immediately.

NOGGIN BOGGLER

Simply reply to this email with your submission to the following nautical Noggin-Boggler. There is no need to change the subject line, just hit reply and send your answer. Club Nautique will choose the winner for this week's Boggler randomly from all of the correct entries. Please respond by noon on Sunday, July 17th.

Question:
Rod Witel shot this photo at AT&T Park on July 4th and it just begs for a funny caption, so this week's Noggin Boggler is to come up with a humorous caption for the photo. The Club staff will select the best - bribes accepted ;-) - and the winner will receive $20 in Boating Bucks. You may submit as many entries as you like.

B40 Bottom Paint
BENETEAU 40 UPDATE
Mystique made lots of progress in the last week. Her keel is on, primer has been applied to the bottom, the mast is ready to be stepped, the woodwork is nearly finished, and lots of gear has been put aboard. We think she looks fast. What do you think?

CLUB NAUTIQUE NEEDS NEW BOATS!
Would you like to own a new sail or power boat and use charter income and income tax savings to help pay for it? If this concept is interesting to you, let us share a few amazing statistics with you. Belle Soeurs, our new Beneteau 34, which is owned by a retired Big 4 accounting firm partner, has broken every record ever set by a new boat in our fleet. In her first 3 months in the fleet, she chartered at an annual rate of 164 days. As of this writing, she has 25 days of reservations on the books and she's just getting warmed up. Most members haven't even seen her yet (she's rarely sitting in her slip to be seen), let alone had the opportunity to sail her.

To put this in perspective, most boats create positive cash flow with 50-75 days of charter per year. Belle Soeurs is more than doubling that! Want some more good reasons to put a boat in the fleet now? Here are just a few major reasons:
· Our fleet is older than it's ever been and we need to bring in new boats & move old ones out.
· Boat loan interest rates are the lowest they've been in history. We just did a charter boat loan at 4.25% fixed for 15 years with no points, fees, or penalties.
· There are a limited number of Beneteaus in factory inventory on sale with factory discounts up to $26,500. These boats are 2012 hull numbers at 2011 pricing.
· The America's Cup is coming to San Francisco Bay. What do you think that's going to do to charter activity?
· If you have a large bonus or want to exercise stock options in 2011 and shelter them from taxes, you can write off up to 100% of the boat purchase this year. This option expires on 12/31/11. This write off is not subject to alternative minimum tax calculations!
· Charter boat owners get free memberships and free dues and of course, they don't pay to sail their own boats.
· If you want the tax benefits in 2011, you must take delivery in 2011 and for some models, deliveries are close to year end. It's time to get your order in now.

There are more good reasons, but you get the idea. If you'd like detailed information on how this can work for YOU, contact Jerry, Dave, or Don, today!
