Greetings!
Thank you all so much for coming out this past weekend for our Alameda Open House. We had such a great time and it was so good to see so many friends - new and old. If you missed the festivities, not to worry, we're doing it again this coming weekend in Sausalito so be sure to stop by!
Speaking of great times, one of the best events of the year is happening this Sunday - Opening Day on the Bay! If you haven't yet experienced this, you're missing out! There are so many fun things to see and do. You can have your boat and crew blessed for the season. You can also enjoy the parade of boats around the city front starting at noon. These boats go all out with decorations. This year's theme is "Giants of San Francisco Bay" - celebrating the many people and things that have made San Francisco so unique. And if all that weren't enough, be sure your crew stops in the clubhouse before you sail because we're serving free mimosas for all hands!
HAPPY BOATING SEASON 2011!!! |

NOGGIN BOGGLER WINNER!
We randomly selected the winner from the correct answers that were submitted. Don't miss your chance to dazzle us with your knowledge and win a prize! Congratulations, George Sparr!

Question: In honor of our Alameda Open House, we would like to pay homage to one of this location's longest permanent residents - may she rest in peace. Name that cat!
Answer: Bilge! Bilge adopted Club Nautique somewhere in the early 90s at which point we were told she was in the 12 year old range. She lived in the Alameda clubhouse until December 2009 when she finally headed off over the horizon. There was much speculation about her actual age but she kept our laps and hearts warm for almost two decades!

NOGGIN BOGGLER WINNER! - CORRECTION
Last week we let a clear winner slip through the cracks. Our apologies to David Castillo who correctly answered our Noggin Boggler and is the winner of a Portland Plotter.
David - you obviously understand the benefits of putting a boat in the Club Nautique fleet, when are you going to come in and sign the paperwork for a brand new Beneteau 31 for the fleet?

David with the America's Cup Question: Name at least 5 benefits to putting a new Beneteau into the Club Nautique fleet! Hint: Visit us on our Beneteau 35' in slip 73 at the boat show to get some answers!
Answer: David's response: Reduce your tax bill. Deduct all ordinary business expenses. Deduct slip rental, maintenance, interest, insurance and depreciation as you are now in the equipment leasing business. Earn 60% of charter revenue. Free use of boat, free membership, free instruction, discounts on charters of other boats in the fleet, discounts on vacation charters around the world and wholesale purchasing power of marine equipment.
