Greetings!
Daylight Savings Sailing Time!
Coming out of the winter season is always a welcome change. Buds start to appear on the trees, there are more and more days when you only need one layer of clothing, and you realize at some point in early evening (maybe when you're driving home from work) that it's still light out. Isn't that just the best?! And then it gets even better when Daylight Savings Time arrives and magically bestows another hour of daylight upon us! What a wonderful gift!
Personally, standing on the deck in Sausalito, gazing down at a Colgate 26 at quittin' time with a few hours to frolic, we'd be hard pressed for a reason why NOT to go for a sail! Thank you Daylight Savings Time!
Note: Sunday, March 14 is the day to "Spring Forward" by setting your clocks ahead one hour. That means an extra hour of daylight to enjoy on the water.

TODAY'S TIP
Take advantage of reduced winter rates while they are still in effect. The sun has been out, the wind has been winding up, and with Daylight Savings time giving you an extra hour starting this Sunday, you'll have more time to spend on the water at our reduced winter rates! Don't miss out! Winter rates continue through Wednesday, March 31st.
The photo below is of one of our happy sailors from this past weekend. Meleah headed out to the Farallons with a pod of sailors from Club Nautique in search of whales. They all enjoyed an incredible adventure with good food, great company and stellar weather. For more pictures of what they saw, check out our Caught on Camera section below.

QUESTION:
At the end of a dead end slough, just up a short path, there is a
place called Al's Place. Legend has it that founder Al Adami was a
bootlegger in the Ryde area before he moved to Locke and became the
first non-Chinese person to have a business in town. Al's Place is
noted for serving peanut butter with French bread and for dollar bills
tacked to the ceiling.
There is a beautiful protected anchorage
shown in the picture below that is just a couple hundred yards down the
path from Al's Place. What is the name of this anchorage?
ANSWER:
The anchorage is named Railroad Cut and is part of the Meadows territory.

CORPORATE CORNER
With each day getting longer and warmer, you and your employees have more daylight to enjoy yourselves in our remarkable Bay Area. Why not invest some of this time in team building? One Bay Area company recently rented 3 sailing yachts with 6 employees each and raced our beautiful Bay. They tell us it was fabulous and unforgettable.
This event was a corporate sponsored employee reward for its top performers, which was a very memorable perk as well as being a team-building experience. Management teams have used our charters for executive team building, and one recently discussed having their Budget Committee meet after a day on the Bay while still on the yacht, undistributed by office routines.
Do you have any springtime investors or prominent guests visiting your company? Why not entertain them with a day of sailing on the Bay?
This time of year is great for sailing on the Bay, for a Sales Rewards program, Executive Budget or Board meetings, or entertaining visiting guests. The timing is ideal from a financial standpoint, as well. Book any charter for April -June, prior to March 31st and you will save money with our winter charter rates.
Call Dave Moore or Doug Perry at the Club Nautique office, 510 865-4700, or email corpdesk@clubnautique.net

NOGGIN BOGGLER
QUESTION:
Prudence Parsimonious & Penny Pincher left Monterey on Saturday, March 13th, 2010 on the way back to the marina in Alameda. While underway, Prudence decided to reorganize her wallet. She came across a two-for-one coupon for the early bird special at her favorite restaurant, The Salty Seagull, located in her marina. Panicking, she presented Penny with her predicament -- the coupon expired at 5pm on Sunday, March 14th! It was midnight and they had 100 miles to go. They were traveling at a speed of 6 knots. Did they make it in time to redeem the coupon and partake in a plentiful platters of savory seafood?! Please show us your work.
