February is almost here and that means that our Coastal Passage Making season is just around the corner. Did you know that Club Nautique certifies more US SAILING Coastal and Offshore Passage Making graduates than all of the other schools in the country COMBINED? Students benefit from different instructors and boats on multiple voyages along the challenging Northern California coast.  We couldn't be more proud of our world class program and our hard-working students. If you're interested in finding out more about Coastal Passage Making, don't miss our kick off party this Saturday!

Before the CPM party, get out on the water this weekend! There are always things to make sailing more interesting. Treat your sweetie to an early Valentine's adventure and frolic under the full moon on Friday evening. Or, take in the frivolity of the Three Bridge Fiasco on Saturday and witness over 300 boats trying to make it around the Bay battling building currents and historically light winds.

Sailing Tip
When sailing, particularly coastal cruising, it's a good idea to have all of your essential gear close at hand. By attaching items such as your knife, flashlight, handheld VHF, and multi-tool to your PFD, they will always be at hand and outside of your foul weather gear.  Use a pouch, such as this Mustang Survival Accessory Pocket, that attaches to your PFD to make this even easier.

Nautical Noggin-Boggler WINNER!

We selected our winner randomly from the correct answers submitted. Don't miss your chance to dazzle us with your knowledge and win a prize!

Congratulations to last week's winner of a pair of Wigwam 40 Degrees Below Cold Weather Socks

NICK FOSKETT

Not only was Nick our randomly chosen winner, he also submitted a great answer that we'd like to share. Thanks for the smile Nick!

NICK'S ANSWER:

Clearly he MISLED his crew. Instead of being the hands-on captain they expected, when a PISTON on the engine fails for lack of GREASE, he just HOVERS around and suggests the crew BATHES after completing the repairs. What a FIASCO! No wonder he was worried they'd GIVE HIM THE BOOT!
