You all must have been VERY good last year because Santa delivered Club Nautique, not one, not two, but THREE new boats for your sailing pleasure! See below for details and to pick out your favorite.
Our first Winter Wednesday of the year hosted a standing-room-only crowd for part one of a two-part series on boat design. We are looking forward to welcoming Kame Richards from Pineapple Sails for the second half of this very informative seminar. Learn the logic behind rig and sail design. Wednesday, January 20th. Sign up early!
Monday is Martin Luther King Day. If you have the day off, get out on a boat and enjoy yourself! The sailing has been sublime and you won't want to miss it!

New Boats in the Fleet for 2010!
|
|
WOW!!!
These boats are so new that we don't even have pictures of them, so we had to use pictures of sister-ships. They each have great features that you'll be sure to enjoy!
Hunter 31 - Summer GaleSausalito

Summer Gale is blowing into town equipped with a dodger. It'll be a breeze to keep the wind and waves off of your guests on this 31' beauty.
Hunter 33 - SaphiraAlameda You won't believe what a gem she is. With your Club Nautique Basic Cruising certification or higher, you can charter Sahpira and will be the envy of the sailing community. She is a multi-faceted boat, sparkling with the amenities of our larger boats, including a dodger, radar and a 22" flat screen TV! Jeanneau 50DS - EscapadeAlameda You just can't help but have fun on a boat named Escapade, but please, keep it safe and legal! Escapade is a three-cabin, three-head boat that will be offshore equipped with more bells and whistles than we have room to list. Let's just say, she had us at "generator". |
2009 Offshore Passage Making Graduates!

Congratulations 2009 Graduates! The US SAILING Offshore Passage Making Certification is a huge accomplishment. In 2009, two successful voyages took eight students out on the high seas. Of the eight, six completed the requirements needed to gain the coveted OPM sticker. Congratulations to all of you for your hard work and determination!
Students return from the five-day voyage transformed. Having put to use all of the skills that they have learned up until the point of the class they all agree that they reached a heightened level of seamanship and understanding.
We couldn't be more proud of them as well as our top-notch instructor, Arnstein Mustad, a.k.a. Satan.

Today's Tip Courtesy of Assistant School Director, Dave Scott |

Remember to check your standing rigging as part of your pre-cruise. A thorough rig inspection includes looking fore and aft, alow and aloft. Check your chain plates, turnbuckles and clevis pins; your mast, spreaders and shrouds; and your lifelines from bow to stern, especially at their terminals and fittings. Look for rust, cracks, missing cotter pins or anything else unusual. A rigging failure would almost certainly ruin your day.
