If you love sailing as much as we do, you start to invent reasons why you simply must get out on the water - like, the sun is in the sky or the day of the week ends in "y".

We'll use anything for an excuse. When there are big events to celebrate, like the solstice, a full moon or a lighted boat parade, just try to hold us back!  Particularly this time of year, with the more sedate wind conditions, it's a perfect time to introduce the non-sailors in your life to the joys of being on the water.

Here's a doozy: there will be a Blue Moon on New Years Eve, which won't happen again until 2028! If that's not a good excuse to get on the water, we don't know what is!
Today's Tip

Sailing TipWinter provides an opportunity to do some beautiful night sailing, with a chance to enjoy moonlit nights and city lights without having to stay out too late. If you are certified to Bareboat or above you're allowed to sail Club boats after dark. There are opportunities for magical moments after dark, including watching great events like the lighted boat parades that are coming up. Radar is a great tool for sailing after dark. If you haven't worked much with radar, try going for a night sail to get some practice time. Or join our radar class later this month to get top training from a Club Nautique instructor.
