picking raspberriesGranny's Berry Patch
One of the most popular parts of our Victory Garden Cooking Camps is when we pick blackberries or raspberries.  It does not matter if we are making delicious desserts like blackberry cobbler or raspberry shortcake or eating them fresh from the bush, they are delicious.

Blackberries and raspberries are so easy to grow.  Ours require no more care than cutting down the old canes each year and securing the news ones.  Our thornless blackberries are huge and though the raspberry briars have thorns, it's worth a few scratches to get to these special treats.  Do you know that for about the same price as you would pay for a quart of berries, you can buy enough plants to have your own patch.

And, the plants will multiply so your patch will be even bigger next year.

Order any of the following from Blooms and Berries (before May 1) and they will donate 20% of the purchase price to the garden program.

Thornless Blackberries
Blueberries
Red Raspberries
Strawberries
Asparagus
Rhubarb
Concord, Niagara (white concord), and Catawba (sweet wine) Grapes
Horseradish
