Greetings!
During this season of Thanksgiving, we at Laurel House have so much to be thankful for. Every day, our Shelter is "home" to an average of 22-23 women and children who come to us seeking safe haven due to domestic violence in their own homes. This Thursday, these families will enjoy a bountiful feast, made possible by the generous food donations we have received from individuals, businesses, and faith communities throughout the county. In addition, 21 families from our Transitional Housing and Community Counseling programs will also have food baskets full of everything they need to prepare a traditional holiday meal. Volunteers are assisting with transporting these donations, and volunteers will also be helping out at the Shelter throughout the long holiday weekend. We wish each of you, our donors and volunteers, and our other community supporters, a happy and healthy Thanksgiving! Warm regards, Beth Sturman, Executive Director |
