Want some good news for the Kansas City real estate market? Heartland MLS statistics for December 2011 show combined home sales of 1,833, which represents a 7 percent increase over December 2010 and an 8 percent increase from the previous month.

Code of Ethics training           
All KCRAR members must complete and report Code of Ethics training by December 31, 2012. This is a mandate from NAR every four years that you are a REALTORŪ.

February 13 - Affiliate Networking & Business Development

 

Affiliates: Please join us in the KCRAR classroom on Monday, Feb. 13 for the 2012 Affiliate Networking & Business Development Event. Join other KCRAR Affiliate members for a panel discussion on the benefits of your affiliate membership, making the most of your membership, and forming relationships with other affiliates and REALTORŪ members. Nonmembers are welcome!

Come at 2:30 for networking; the panel discussion follows from 3-4 p.m. You'll learn about the benefits of an affiliate membership, making the most of networking, effective presentations for office sales meetings and implementing a mentor program. February 24, 2012 - Ugly Sweater Winter Bowling Tournament 

 

Don your best ugly sweater and join us for an afternoon of bowling and fun on Friday, Feb. 24 at Park Lanes (7701 Renner Road, Shawnee, KS 66217). Whether the sweater is flashy, trashy or tacky - the uglier, the better!

 

The cost is $20 per person. Teams of up to five players are allowed, and prizes will be given for Best Team Name, Best Team Score, Ugliest Sweater and the coveted "At Least I Showed Up" award for the lowest-scoring bowler. 

 

Check-in and registration begins at 1:30 p.m. and bowling will follow at 2 p.m. The event includes a pizza lunch with dessert. Secure your spot today by registering here by Feb. 17.  

Annual registration of Kansas City rental properties due          

All owners of rental dwellings located in Kansas City, Mo. must renew or establish registration of their rental properties with the city's Neighborhood and Community Services Department for 2012 before Feb 1.

 

Owners can register rental properties through Jan. 31 without incurring a registration fee. However, failure to register a rental dwelling before Feb. 1 will result in the issuance of an administrative citation fine of $50. For each month (or portion thereof) that a rental dwelling is not registered, an additional $50 fee will be assessed. For example, a rental property not registered until August will be assessed a fine of $350. Registration is required on a calendar-year basis and expires each Dec. 31.
