NAR Pushes Housing Plan to Protect the Pending Housing Market Recovery
|
Earlier this month, the National Association of REALTORS® unveiled an ambitious five-point plan to combat several proposals that would severely weaken the growing yet incomplete housing recovery. Specifically, NAR is urging Congress and the administration to reauthorize the National Flood Insurance Program (which will expire Nov. 18 without any Congressional action) and oppose any efforts to impose a 20% minimum down payment requirement for mortgage loans, which would shut roughly 39% of potential home buyers out of the housing market.
