Extreme Home Makeover is coming to Joplin!
Extreme Home Makeover logoExtreme Home Makeover is coming to Joplin next month to build seven houses for seven worthy families. If you've been looking for a volunteer opportunity there, this is it!

The project begins October 19. General volunteers and construction trades of all kinds are needed to help rebuild and revive this community! They are looking for upwards of 2,000 volunteers, so this is a great way to help in many different ways - from handing out food and water for workers to actually hammering nails.

To sign up or for more information, go to www.joinextreme.com/joplin.

Forget about personal safety

Even though September is National Safety Month for REALTORS®, there's no point in bothering to talk about it.

Safety logo

Most agents don't listen to sound advice about protecting their personal safety anyway. Most agents continue to run out the door to meet strangers, and/or they spend Sunday afternoon alone and like sitting ducks at open houses.

On the other hand, if you'd like to change your ways and safeguard your handbag, your health or your life, then be sure to join us in the KCRAR classroom from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday, September 15 and hear the latest from the local and well-known "Safety Lady," Tracey Hawkins of Safety and Security Source. What you learn in "Be Safe: Protecting You and Your Clients" can definitely help keep you out of trouble! See the Education calendar at www.kcrar.com for more information or to register.

There's lots more information available on the website of the National Association of REALTORS® at www.realtor.org. Type safety in the search box for good reading and some materials you can order.
