Reminder - September 1 Deadline for KCRAR Director Applications

Share your expertise and experience as a leader of one of the nation's largest REALTOR® Associations by running for the KCRAR Board of Directors!

If you have an interest in the Association's work, its goals and its future - as well as leadership ability or potential - you're invited to apply as a Director for this year's Board election. You're also invited to suggest nominees if you know of someone who would make a great Director.

The deadline has been extended to Monday, September 12. To submit a nomination, please complete the Application for Director Candidate and email it, along with a photo, to Perry Crume at perryc@kcrar.com.

Nominations for Community Service Award
Due September 15

If you know a KCRAR member who has made significant contributions to an organization or program that improves the livability of our local community, you have the opportunity to nominate them for KCRAR's 2011 Community Service Award. Activities aren't limited to real estate or housing issues, and could include such causes as crime prevention, youth mentoring, and homelessness prevention, just to name a few.

Not only will the Community Service Award winner receive personal recognition for their efforts, they will also receive grant money for the public charity of his/her choice. Don't delay - nominations are due no later than September 15, 2011. For more information, see the nomination form on the KCRAR website.

Coming September 7 - SafeMLS!

Heartland MLS Color Heartland MLS has recently taken important steps to face a challenge that is prevalent in our entire industry - that of data security and unauthorized account sharing.

Beginning Wednesday, September 7, we will be implementing a proven security technology called SafeMLS, so you will be seeing a slightly different log in screen. At some point after that date, you will be asked to enroll in SafeMLS and to select a new password when you access Matrix. The new password must be a minimum of eight (8) characters long with a minimum of five (5) letters and it must include at least one number. The maximum number of characters will be twelve (12).

You will no longer be able to save your user ID or password on the log in page, as this technology involves keystroke recognition and will require you to type both your user ID and password with each log in. Please take the next couple of weeks to select an appropriate password so that you will be prepared on September 7th.
