Show Me Region |
 Ever since an EF5 tornado devastated the town of Joplin, MO on Sunday, May 22, many of you have been asking how you can help with the disaster relief efforts. We're excited to tell you that the RPAC Auction hosted by the Show Me Region at Benjamin Ranch next Thursday, June 9 is now a REALTORŪ Relief Auction that will benefit our REALTORŪ families affected by the Joplin disaster.
The KCRAR volunteers involved in planning the Auction felt strongly that we should direct those funds to Joplin tornado relief efforts, rather than RPAC as originally intended. For those of you that would like another opportunity to either donate or purchase an item to benefit the REALTORSŪ Political Action Committee, we encourage you to do so at the fourth and final RPAC Auction of the year on Thursday, July 21 at the Overland Park Marriott. Additional details on that event will be coming soon.

We're accepting auction items now! We are looking for gift baskets, gift certificates, event tickets, or even cash donations to purchase an item. Affordability Reaches Highest Level in 20 Years |
Homes are more affordable to more families, according to the latest index for the first quarter of 2011 that shows affordability reaching its highest level in more than 20 years.
Nearly 75 percent of all new and existing homes sold in the first quarter of 2011 were affordable to families earning the national median income of $64,400, according to the National Association of Home Builders/Wells Fargo Housing Opportunity Index. The previous high was set in the fourth quarter of 2010 with 73.9 percent.
"With interest rates remaining at historically low levels, today's report indicates that home ownership is within reach of more households than it has been for more than two decades," says Bob Nielsen, chairman of the National Association of Home Builders.

 KCRAR and HMLS have received word from the Ozark Gateway Board of REALTORSŪ (the Joplin Board) on their specific needs and are hosting a donation drive this week to collect the following specific items: - Plastic storage tubs with lids (largest size possible)
- NEW men's, women's and children's underwear
- NEW men's, women's and children's socks
- Jugs of water (not water bottles, but 1-gallon and 2-gallon jugs)
