Minden Selected for KAR Right Track Leadership Program |
Kudos to Kathy Minden, GRI, broker at Reece & Nichols Miami County, for being accepted in the 2011 Kansas Association of REALTORSŪ Right Track Program. The program aims to prepare leaders who can help advance the quality of life in their Kansas communities and empower them to maximize their potential. Did you know... |
By 2015, more than two out of every five households occupied by people from the Y Generation will be WINKS - Women with Incomes and No Kids. According to PROSALES Magazine, the share of single female homebuyers increased from 14% in 1995 to 21% last year. In contrast, only 10% of homebuyers were single men, according to the National Association of RealtorsŪ.

There are various reasons for this trend. First, the average age of a woman's first marriage has increased from 20 in 1970 to 25 in 2003, leaving more unmarried women in the population.
And according to the Joint Center for Housing Studies at Harvard University, fewer young adult women than men are choosing to live with their parents, thereby forming their own households. |

Cell Phones for Soldiers |
Cell phones are a popular gift each year during the holidays, and they're also something just about every REALTORŪ has and upgrades frequently. If you bought or received a new phone this holiday season, please consider putting your used or discarded cell phone to good use by donating them to Cell Phones for Soldiers.
KCRAR has collected over 100 cell phones for Cell Phones for Soldiers since December 2008. Cell Phones for Soldiers is a national charity that hopes to turn old cell phones into more than 12 million minutes of prepaid calling cards for U.S. troops stationed overseas. To do so, Cell Phones for Soldiers expects to collect 50,000 cell phones each month through a network of more than 3,000 collection sites across the country. The phones are sent to ReCellular, which pays Cell Phones for Soldiers for each donated phone - enough to provide an hour of talk time to soldiers abroad.
If you have any used cell phones in any condition, please feel free to bring them to the KCRAR office as a donation to Cell Phones for Soldiers. All donations are tax-deductible and donation receipts are available. Contact Cristalle Bozarth at 913-266-5908 or cristalleb@kcrar.com for questions. |
