Since the Chinese Song dynasty (960-1279 C.E.) small rectangular tables have been used by the Chinese for serving wine and food, and for dining for one or two. These side tables are often call wine tables (jiuzhuo), half tables, or extension tables.
Archaeologists have found and scientists have confirmed residue of fruit wine that was approximately 9,000-years old in pottery jars from the village of Jiahu, in Henan province, Northern China, making this the oldest known wine discovery. Read more ...
