Happy Chinese New Year!
Greetings!
Chinese New Year is the most important celebration in the Chinese calendar. The Chinese year 4705 begins on Feb. 19, 2007 and this year marks the year of the Pig.
In celebrating Chinese New Year, we are going RED. At Chinese New Year celebrations people wear red clothes, decorate with poems on red paper, and give children "lucky money" in red envelopes. Red symbolizes fire, which according to legend can drive away bad luck. In this "red edition" of our newsletter, discover how we're celebrating the culture, family, and food of Chinese New Year, beginning February 19 through March 19. Join us!
