Republicans Sweep in Bartow County!

After a bittersweet night, there is much to celebrate on the Republican side in Bartow County.  Yes, it was a bitter night because John McCain and Sarah Palin lost the national race for president, but locally and in Georgia Republicans did very well proving that we are still a very RED state.  Congratulations to our winning candidates listed below, and many thanks to all of our wonderful volunteers.  Without your help, there might not have been anything to celebrate.

Senator John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin
  Bartow 72%  National 46%

Senator Saxby Chambliss  Bartow 65%  Georgia 49.9% (still counting)

J. Doug Everett (PSC) Bartow 77%  Georgia 66.7%

Lauren McDonald (PSC)  Bartow 63%  Georgia 47.3%

Congressman Phil Gingrey  Bartow 73%  District 68.2%

State Senator Bill Heath  Bartow 64% District 66.5%

Representative Barry Loudermilk Bartow 75% District 74.7%

Sheriff Clark Millsap  Bartow 67%

Commissioner Clarence Brown  Bartow 69%

All percentages are unofficial at this time.  Senator Chambliss and Lauren McDonald will be going to a runoff on December 2nd if their overall percentage stays under 50%.

Many thanks to the rest of the Bartow County Republican Party's Executive Committee and their tireless work over the past two years preparing for the election.  Also, many thanks to the Bartow County TARS and their many hours of work and especially with their work yesterday at the polls.  Without these two groups, the Bartow County Republican Party wouldn't be the party it is today, and wouldn't have had the success that the gentlemen above experienced yesterday in Bartow County.

Thank you,
