I have been coaching MAGIC OF SKIING with Tom for twenty years and every year I find a new concept I am excited about. This year it is the word ARTISTRY.

Tom always tells us, "Make Your Life of Work A Work of Art."

Artistry puts a label on what the Magic of Skiing week is about and is the quality I want in my skiing and coaching. Below is my condensed recipe for artistry in skiing. You can find artistry in anything you have a love to do:

  • Have a love for skiing - have a real passion for the sport

  • Be a student of skiing- study skiing- understand tactics-be aware of new equipment and what this equipment means to technique and tactics

  • Surround yourself with real skiers, people who love skiing as much as you do- notice their line and if it differs from yours- notice how they handle different conditions

  • Be disciplined in your practice- find home base- develop your skiing movements- learn from your mistakes

  • Just go ski - become centered - increase your awareness - be in the moment - do not judge your skiing or give yourself instructions - you will recognize your best skiing and will repeat this skiing naturally
Have the "best year ever" and we will see you at The Magic.

Magic of Skiing 2010

January 16 - 23, 2010
February 6 - 13, 20010

Something's happening around here.  Listen carefully!  Can you hear the chattering of your skis from the closet or basement?

Go on.  Sneak closer. Tip your ear a little.  They are bursting with excitement!

"Fabulous powder!  I can just feel it!"
                        "I'm cruisin' for a cruiser!"
"Gimme some bumps, baby.  Just gimme some bumps!"

They can't wait.  Neither can you.

Look down.  Can you see your toes?  Can you see how they're jiggling with joy and giggling?

"Dance me down the mountain with old friends and new!"
"Let me feel the snow as I go!"
                        "Bring on the Magic!"

Do them a favor.  Get them signed up for The Magic of Skiing soon!!
