First US County Gov't Adopts Kids at Hope

November 9, 2010

Subject: Hot off the press-First US County Gov't to Adopt Kids at Hope

Just heard from newly elected Nat'l Kids at Hope board member Christine Epps, executive director of the St. Lucie County Roundtable, that the Board of Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida approved last evening a resolution adopting Kids at Hope as its countywide youth development strategy. This is the first county in the US to take such courageous action. In addition to five cities across the United States adopting similar resolutions, over 500 schools and other community groups and associations in the US and Canada are leading efforts to ensure that we work together to create cultures that believes in all our children, No exceptions; ensure all children are supported by caring adults, and help them grow up hopeful, optimistic and successful-not by slogans, but by a comprehensive evidenced based strategic cultural strategy that rallies an entire community, county, state and nation.

You go St. Lucie County!!

Sincerely
