Dear ,

Last Friday, July 23, United Way launched the Dream Team challenge--pitting four local news anchors against each other to create the biggest dream team!  Each anchor represents a different community cause and is armed with a video pitch on why you should join their Dream Team. For each person that joins, $1 is donated to United Way.

Choose your cause and spread the word--the top 100 recruiters from the winning team get a special celebration at the Budweiser rooftop deck at Target Field, while the person who recruits the most people, and has the highest personal impact score on September 3, wins an iPad!

So put a stake in the ground and join a team today at DreamTeam2010.org!

ELSpotlightEmerging Leader Spotlight
Alexander OftelieAlex Oftelie first got involved with United Way through his employer Bentz Whaley Flessner. While researching which charities he wanted to support through his payroll contributions, he found Emerging Leaders. Alex knew that his monetary contributions were important, but he was looking for more. "Giving and making an impact in my community can come in so many different forms. I was really excited to see United Way had opportunities for me to engage beyond my financial gift," he said. Learn more about Alex and meet other Emerging Leaders.

Rock on with Hard Rock Cafe
Rock on with the Hard Rock Cafe Minneapolis and United Way for a school supply drive during August. Kids are only ready to learn when they have the right tools. We'll kick off the drive with a concert tonight, Thursday, July 29 at Hard Rock Cafe featuring Rev Hillstrom. Your entrance fee is a donation of school supplies or dollars, plus you'll get a Hard Rock souvenir and Emerging Artists CD for your support.

School supply donations can be dropped off at Hard Rock Cafe Minneapolis (600 Hennepin Avenue South, Minneapolis) during their hours of operation between August 1-27.
