Best Of Awards at the Orpheum Theatre
At the annual Best Of Awards, presented by Land O'Lakes, Greater Twin Cities United Way honored some of the local companies that helped raise $87.7 million for the community last year.
 
For the second year running, the Orpheum Theatre provided the perfect backdrop for the Academy Awards-style ceremony showcasing the best of the best among our agency and corporate partners.

survey2010 Agency Survey: Recession Continues to Impact Local Nonprofits 
 
United Way recently released the results of our 2010 Agency Survey. Among the findings:
  • 74% of agencies have seen an increase of clients in need, and those needs are more intense
  • 40% reported that their budgets were down an average of 11% from 2009.
  • Last year, over half (53%) implemented expense-reduction strategies in 2009; most (53%) employed salary freezes, while 26% had to eliminate services.
