Become a Girl Scout Mentor

The Volunteer Services Department is looking for experienced Leaders to help mentor new leaders and volunteers. The positions serve on the Volunteer Training Team and are divided into the following categories:

ELFS (Experienced Leader Friend)

This new position for experienced leaders to become a Buddie with one new leader in their own Service Unit. Duties are: attending their first few meetings, encouraging them to attend SU meetings, and calling them to remind them of events and activities in the area.

COACH

This position is a little more experienced than the ELF and will be a coach for all the Brownie leaders in the SU, (or Daisy leaders or Junior leaders etc), and meet with them now and then to encourage level Events and activities. A Coach could also oversee all the troops at one particular school or area.

Trainer-Facilitator

These positions are usually a little more knowledgeable concerning Girl Scouting and can choose to train new volunteers in First Aid-CPR, Troop Camp Training, Leadership Essentials etc. Trainers-Facilitators also may choose to teach Enrichment classes such as SWAPS, Ceremonies or Recruitment. It is their choice what they teach and how often. You set your own dates and times.

Some positions do require additional 1 time trainings.

Please call Terry at 1-800-865-3069 if you are interested.

Congratulations to Ashley Neely of Troop 9218 in Riviera. She recently received the President's Volunteer Service Award! Ashley volunteers much of her time to the community and every year holds a fundraiser dinner and donates the money to a different charity. Ashley will be a senior in the fall at Riviera Kaufer High School. Congratulations again Ashley! Nice work!
